As I sit bundled up in a cozy sweater, coffee in hand, and the piney aroma of a burning candle wafting around me, I can no longer deny the passing of summer. I love summer, but after the heat I welcome the cool, fresh mornings of “sweater season.”
Thanksgiving falls at the beginning of autumn because of the harvest. We are thankful for the Lord’s provision for our physical needs. I am thankful for food every day, for the warmth of my home, and most of all, for my family. But I am also thankful for ministry He has given me, for the ways He allows me to serve Him.
There are times when I’m exhausted and want nothing more than to sit and listen to the creek, with a book and a cup of tea, for the rest of my days! But the truth is, we were created to glorify God, and while we need to rest from time to time, the joy I have is only found in serving Him to bring Him glory.
So I am thankful for the opportunity to serve Him. I am thankful for the ministry He has given me to do. I am thankful that I can write to you each week, and hopefully encourage you. I am thankful for the privilege of praying for you. I am thankful for the encouragement you are to me when I hear of your faith and that you are abiding in Christ! I am thankful for YOU!
I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Phil 1:3-6
What are you thankful for today? What ministry has God blessed you with? Thank Him for opportunities to bless others, to serve Him, to bring Him glory!
Keep Seeking the Kingdom!
PS. I can’t wait to see you at the Fall Retreat and hear how this year has been going for you! You will be refreshed, encouraged, and challenged. Don’t miss it!
